On Friday December 2, director Brad Peyton’s Incarnate, starring Aaron Eckhart, Carice van Houten and David Mazouz, will enter the theaters. Judging by the story, which feels like a mix between Dreamscape and The Exorcist, I think it looks like a promising movie.
In the movie we meet the wheelchair-bound Dr. Seth Ember (Eckhart), a man with the ability to enter the minds of possessed people, to cast out their demons from the inside. As he enters the mind of a boy, he learns that the demon who set up camp there as the same that killed Ember‘s family in the past.
I like the variant of the bringing the actual exorcism inside the possessed, instead of going the usual stand-by-the-bed-chanting route, which gives the movie an interesting and fresh feeling. Have a look at the second trailer, for the Incarnate, below and see what you think.
You might recognize Eckhart from his role as Harvey Dent in the movie Dark Knight, Mazouz as Bruce Wayne in Gotham and van Houten from her role as Melisandre in Game of Thrones.
