In The Conjuring, we get follow the ghost hunters Ed and Lorraine Warren, as they embarks on a chilling investigation of the horrific events that are taking place in the Perron family’s secluded farmhouse. An investigation that put the Warren’s face to face with a dark and baleful being, which made them fear for their life.
The story is based upon a real life case from the couple and paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, whose most famous case Amityville, also managed to spawn a movie. You can find more information about the works of the Warren’s here.
The Conjuring is also the first of two attention-grabbing horror movies, directed by James Wan (Saw, Insidious), which will hit the theaters this year, with Insidious: Chapter 2 (September 13, 2013) being the second one.
In the movie the Warrens are portrayed by Vera Farmiga (Up in the Air, Orphan) and Patrick Wilson, who you might recognize from, yep you guessed right – Insidious. Among the other cast members we find Lili Taylor (Hemlock Grove), Ron Livingston and Shanley Caswell (Detention).
