Last Saturday, while Dan Aykroyd did some promotion for his Crystal Head Vodka, he also managed to squeeze in some interesting news about the possibilities that Ghostbusters 3 might be able to rise from its development hell.
According to WIVB.com, Aykroyd announced that they now have a brand new writing staff working on the movie. He also revealed that the whole thing with Ghostbusters 3 is that it must be perfect, or else there’s no point doing it. I guess he has a point there, considering that the expectations for Ghostbusters 3 will be of biblical proportions, you wouldn’t like to throw out a half good or even decent movie, you would like to hand out a great movie and nothing less.
I guess it safe to conclude that Aykroyd really want to see a third installment of Ghostbuster, as much as we do, or else he wouldn’t have attached a new bunch of writers to the project, which would have the task to come up with a script that’ll be able to meet Aykroyd’s high standards.
However, Aykroyd didn’t reveal whom the new writers were or when they would expect to present anything solid. Do you think that Ghostbusters 3 will ever see the inside of a theater, and what kind of storyline would you like to have?
