Here we have a couple of new stills from the Danish director Christian E. Christiansen’s upcoming thriller The Roommate, starring Minka Kelly (The Kingdom), Leighton Meester (Date Night), and Cam Gigandet (Twilight).
In the movie Sara (Kelly), a college freshman, is randomly assigned to a dorm with Rebecca (Meester). The girls get along well and friendship arise between them. Even so, Sara soon finds herself in a deadly situation, as Rebecca becomes obsessed with her, trying to become her, and begins to target people in her life.
Although it appears that the plot has some uncanny similarities to Single White Female (1992), it’s not a remake, yet it feels like the movie could have been titled, SWF Goes to College, though. The Roommate will be released on February 4, and then we can find out exactly how similar it really is.
