Finally I have found a trailer for Darren Lynn Bousman’s remake of Troma’s classic from the 80’s – Mother’s Day. Since it looks even better than I imagined it would, I’m now more excited to catch it as it hits the theaters on April 1 and that isn’t an April Fools joke!
The story revolves around three brothers, whom returns home after a failed bank robbery, only to find that their mother has lost the house in a foreclosure. When the brothers see that the new owners are celebrating an ill-timed birthday party, they decide to take them and their guests hostage.
When their mother, who will do absolutely anything to protect her children, arrives, the grave situation escalates into a cruel and bloody mayhem, for the hostages, who are struggling to make it through the night alive.
One reason to why you would want to see Mother’s Day is that Rebecca DeMornay (The Hand That Rocks the Cradle) plays the sadistic mother, which I think is a fantastic casting for that role and I’m sure that she’ll do a memorable performance with it.
The rest of the cast looks compelling as well, with actors like Jaime King (Sin City), Shawn Ashmore (Frozen), Deborah Ann Woll (True Blood) and Patrick Flueger (Kill Theory).
Check out the trailer and the poster below and tell us if you think that Bousman’s remake will match the original or not.
