Earlier this year After Dark Films and Syfy decided to work together to produce two feature movies, for Syfy’s Saturday Original Movie franchise. A couple months later the result of the cooperation emerged – the horror movie Scream of the Banshee, starring Lauren Holly (NCIS) and Lance Henriksen (Aliens), and the Sci-fi movie 51 with Bruce Boxleitner (TRON: Legacy) and Rachel Miner, who played Meg in three episodes of Supernatural.
Now After Dark Films reveals that the two movies are also slated to have their own theatrical release, sometime later this year; separate from the After Dark Originals festival, bawling into selected theaters on January 28 and the premiere on SyFy.
Courtney Solomon, the CEO of After Dark Films gave the following statement,
“We love our partnership with Syfy and look forward to expanding on this exciting line-up. Scream of the Banshee and 51, will be the first Syfy Saturday Original Movie to also get a theatrical release thru After Dark”
