A couple of fresh updates from Kenneth Branagh’s Thor has shown up on the net recently. Earlier this week a new poster emerged and yesterday Yahoo Movies put up a new trailer, which you can see at the end of this post.
Although the trailer look epic and dashing, it does not offer much new footage, besides some intense scenes with Thor and his hammer, which we haven’t already seen in earlier clips, though.
Anyway, I really enjoy the scene, where a really fierce Anthony Hopkins bawls out at Thor, before taking away his power and cast him down to earth. I’m looking forward to seeing the full scene, since I think it can be awesome.
The trailer also features some brief scenes with, the Frost Giants and the Destroyer, which are two of the villains in this story.
Besides that, I think the trailer shows that Branagh is going to serve us a speedy and an action-packed movie, with a stylish touch. I only hope that he manages to mix the grand sceneries of Asgard with the more realistic scenery of earth, in a good way, so it doesn’t come off as cheesy or blunt.
Here’s the story of the movie, the powerful, yet chesty, warrior Thor (Chris Hemsworth) reignites an ancient conflict. That angers Odin (Anthony Hopkins), who decides to cast his son out of Asgard and down to earth, to teach him a lesson.
On earth, Thor falls for the lovely Jane Foster (Natalie Portman). Meanwhile, Thor’s stepbrother Loki, sees an opportunity in his sibling’s disappearance and plans an attack on earth, using the darkest forces of Asgard. That forces Thor to step up and become one of earth’s finest defenders.
May 6, is the date when can see Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston, and Natalie Portman battle it all out on the silver screen.
