The Poster for “Fertile Ground”

The poster for Adam Gierasch and Jace Anderson’s upcoming horror piece “Fertile Ground” is quite startling and that little skull, sitting on the ground, really managed to caught my attention.

“Fertile Ground”, revolves around Emily (Leisha Hailey) and Nate Weaver (Gale Harold), which decides to leave the city for the rural comfort of Nate’s ancestral home, isolated in the country.

Altitude Ready for Take-Off on DVD/Blu-ray

A couple of months back Anchor Bay picked up the distribution rights for “Altitude” and now they have cleared it for take-off, on DVD/Blue-ray, on October 26th.

“Altitude” takes the suspense to new heights, among the darkest of clouds, as a group of friends decides to go for a trip over the weekend, in a small plane.

Shortly after take-off, a malfunction forces their plane to soar, right into the center of a mysterious storm. Soon they realize that there’s something deadly and unnatural lurking in the dark clouds, forcing them to fight for their survival, high up in the air.

This is the first feature from the award-winning graphic artist and music video director Kaare Andrews and produced by Escape Factory’s Ian Birkett. In the young up-and-coming cast we’ll find Jessica Lowndes (“The Haunting of Molly Hartley”) and Julianna Guill (“Friday the 13th 2010”), whom both have starred in “90210”, as well.

Even thought the concept isn’t exactly original, I found the setting interesting – a group of teenagers trapped in a narrow space – which could leave us with a really intense and exciting story, if it’s done right.

The Last Exorcism Possess the Weekend

Since “The Last Exorcism” managed to scare its way to first place this weekend, where “Piranha” only managed to snip off a sixth place last weekend, it seems that moviegoers are more interested in possessed girls, than a bunch flesh-eating guppies munching on bewildered college kids.

Even though Eli Roth and Daniel Stamm’s anticipated horror piece, sold tickets for about $23M, it didn’t manage to beat the re-boot of “A Nightmare on Elm Street”, which sold tickets for over $32M, as Freddy shoved his blades into first place at the box office, back in April.

New Poster for The Last Exorcism

Lionsgate recently released a new poster for the upcoming horror mockumentary “The Last Exorcism”, a movie I really think could be able to scare the flesh from my bones, on August 27.

Even though this poster, featuring Nell up on the wall in a drunken Spider-man pose, is both eye-catching and a tad cool, I don’t think it conveys the same shuddersome feeling as the first, with Nell bending backwards in the barn though, or what do you think about it?

Monsters are Real

Deep inside he knew what had woke him up, and caused that cold sweat materialize on his forehead. He held his breath and listened. The only thing he could hear, out of the compact darkness, was his heart beating, hard and fast. Once again he heard the razor-sharp shriek, striking against the inside of his ears and he closed his eyes so hard, it almost hurt.

Even though he hadn’t heard that sound for years, he knew it far too well.
