The trailer for Jonah Hex, the latest comic book hero that has made it to the silver screen, has hit the net and even though I’m not the biggest western fan out there, I still thought the trailer was rather entertaining, actually.
As I first heard about Jonah Hex, I thought it would be dark and serious, but judging by the trailer and its comical one-liners, it seems that they have gone for a facetiously approach instead, which is something that I think will help it.
I was also surprised to spot Lance Reddick from “Fringe”, in the trailer as well, playing an unspecified role, will be interesting to see what he can do with that. Another one, who will be gripping to watch is Megan Fox, as the gun-wielding prostitute Leila, something that doesn’t seem quite that embarrassing, as I first thought it would be.
The plot, which I think sounds a bit flat and clichéd, revolves around Jonah Hex (Josh Brolin), a gunslinger with one foot in this world and one in the other side, who accepts an offer from the military to track down and stop one of his oldest enemies, Quentin Turnbull (John Malkovich), before he unleashes hell on earth.
If the plot, together with Josh Brolin and Megan Fox, are enough to give us a hog-killin’ time, will be answered on June 18, as Jonah Hex will ride into our cinemas.
