I thought that Megan Fox, portraying a vicious female student with a hunger for high-school boys, would have attracted people to the cinemas this weekend. Considering, it comes from the pen of Diablo Cody, plus the vast buzz it got earlier this summer; I thought it would land in the top 3, this weekend, at least.
Nevertheless, it seemed like people didn’t want to see this horror/comedy. Instead, they put their money on Sony’s 3D animation “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs”, Matt Damon’s “The Informant!” and Jennifer Aniston’s “Love Happens”, leaving Jennifer’s Body in a fifth place.
However, with an opening of $6.8M, Megan Fox beat Sorority Row’s opening weekend, although, it comes way behind The Final Destination’s opening of $27.4M last month.
Even though it seems that Jennifer’s Body is off to a slow start, with mostly poor reviews, I doesn’t think that Twentieth Century-Fox will have a problem getting back the $16M, it took to make it.
As soon as I get the time, I will go and see it and I will of course give you my honest review of it as well, here at Box of Horror.
