I stumbled on a rather interesting clip on YouTube today, featuring Quentin Tarantino revealing his personal top 20 list of movies created since 1992, the year he became a director himself.
The movie that Tarantino ranks as the number one, and the one that he wished that he had done himself, is the Japanese movie, Battle Royale directed by Kinji Fukasaku.
The rest of the movies on his list are in alphabetic order, since he thinks that they are all equally good.

If you watch the clip below, you will hear why Tarantino has put some of the movies on his list, which is very interesting. Among other things, he explains that The Matrix should have been right after Battle Royale, but the two additional Matrix movies, rather spoiled the methodology for him, hence why he put it with the unranked movies of his list.
